THE NEW SITE IS UP AND RUNNING
The new site is pretty much finished!
After countless hours online reading how to's and figuring out how come's, I'm glad to say that the new site is pretty much done. Thanks to the template created by Herro and all those online tutorials, I was able to put together pretty much what I had in mind. I really like how easy it is to navigate now as opposed to before. The page has a newly featured navigation bar with links that include 'Home' 'About' 'Portfolio' and more. I will, however, keep updating and adding new things to this site as I learn a little more about HTML... So keep Checking back

A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR THE FANS
When it comes to shows, ALL the hype is placed on the bands. I'm not saying thats not where the focus should be, but there is a huge missing factor in the music industry that people seem to forget about... The Fans!!
Withought the fans, the shows wouldn't even be possible. So I want to show my support to them. When shooting shows in the past I have soley focused on the actual performance. I shoot my songs and the camera goes in my bag. From now on, I will try my best to get some shots of the fans that are putting their time and money into going to these shows. After all, as a concert goer myself I think it would be cool to have a picture of myself rocking out against the barrier at the front of the pit...
After each show, I'll have a posting for each band that I shot, and a separate posting for all the fan photos from that show... I hope you like what you find...
See you at the show!

CAMERA BODY
The only body I will be shooting with will be Nikon's D300 which is about 100% better than the D50 I was shooting with when I first started doing this... The picture and color quality is amazing and the low noise levels are satistying. This is very important because i pretty much always shoot between ISO 2000 and 3200... I also hope to get the opportunity to get a little creative with some strobes, but until then...just have to stick with what I know.
LENSES
As far as the lenses go, until I can get a hold of a 17-55 f/2.8, which is an amazing lens ( I used it to shoot Underoath/Saosin/TDWP) I will continue to use my 28-75 2.8 along with my 80-200 2.8. I've managed to do alright even with just these in the past.
FLASH
I won't be using my SB 800 for shows... At least not at any of the bigger venues. They seem to have enough light most of the time.. I will try to experiment with off camera flash at some of the local venues though when and if I get a chance... Until then... see ya
About Me
Not that you would have any reason to care, but in case some of you were wondering, here's a little bit about myself....
I've been taking pictures for a few years now. I've shot various things including portraits, fashion shows, movie stills, and lanscape photos. However, it wasn't until 2007 that I started shooting sports and concerts and my passion for photography hit a whole new level. Currently, I am having a blast focusing mainly on cocerts and sports. I've contributed to a few local publications here and there, but nothing to be able to brag about.
Anyway, as far as concerts go, I'm based in Orange County, CA and am looking to shoot some sick shows in my area. I want to let the fans see some cool pictures of the shows they're attending. I haven't been shooting shows too long, but I feel that I have learned a lot so far and I look forward to all the experiences that have yet to come. If you happen to see me at one of the shows don't hesitate to say whats up... See you at the show... Robert

About IShotTheShow.Net
This site grew out of a passion I have for photography and music. But better yet, as I mentioned before, I want to give the fans another way to remember the shows they are going to... through my lens...and from the pit. There are a lot of things you don't get to see when you're sitting out in lawn or in the Mezz so I want to make sure to cover as much of the essence of the show as possible.
As far as the content on this site, currently everything is put together by me. However, I am looking to expand (in the near future) by adding band interviews, show reviews, cd reviews, etc. and I would like to meet and work with other fun and talented individuals who are interested in doing so. If you can take live shots, interview bands, have writing skills, or awesome web design skills lets talk and see what we can come up with. I'm looking for people to work with me, not for me. I just want to have fun along the way.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for stopping by this site. If you would like to contribute any amount (through paypal) to help this site grow, there is a "donate" button on the homepage. I'd like to thank you very much for that in advance as well. Even without donations, I will do what I can to expand IShotTheShow.Net.
Thank You,
